This week, we were treated to four wonderful musical performances through the Blues In Schools Program. Monday to Thursday, we started each morning with a school-wide concert in our gym. The kinders really enjoyed the different types of music and learning about the musical elements in each performance.
We are looking forward to next week, when the Grade 2 students will put on a concert for us after a week of workshops with an artist!
This week, the Turtles focused on kindness during the Lenten season. We made a fruit salad for the school staff, cleaned up our classroom for Mr. Phil and wrote kind notes to each other. We filled up our bucket on Friday because we had been 'caught' doing so many kind deeds this week.

The Whales continued to impress us with their research into castles. Some clever friends figured out how to make handles on shields and how to build a working catapult. We discussed how the symbols on shields were representative of the knight who carried it.
We have been talking with the students about how to create their best work. We've discussed the process to creating a detailed picture or story. We've made a "Bump it Up" wall in both classrooms to help guide the children through this process.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)
