We also had a special performance in the gym on Wednesday - the Immaculata High School band came to perform for us. It was a great show and many students recognized songs like the theme song from Harry Potter and some Coldplay tunes.
A new math game was introduced this week: TENZIE. All you need is a 10 frame, 10 dice per person and a worthy opponent or two.
First, give each player a ten frame.
Next, give each play ten die.
Then, each player takes a turn rolling their die. Which number do you have the most of? Use those die to fill your frame. The first player to completely fill their frame with their "lucky" number wins! This is a great way to reinforce various math skills (more/less, adding, subtracting, recognizing numbers without counting....)
The Turtles reviewed different coins this week as we talked about money. We watched this video and looked closely at different coins:
A few Whales are really interested in ocean life. They have been building habitats for our little sea creature figurines. We had a special survey question this week - do you like the taste of the seaweed snack on offer?
Enjoy these pictures of our learning! Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget that tomorrow (Friday, April 15th) is a PD Day. See you Monday Turtles and Whales :)
