This week, Turtles and Whales took a closer look at the Shape Go Map. We used the map to come up with a story by the class. The Turtles wrote a story about Robert Munsch, and the Whales wrote a story about Angry Birds. We discussed how authors brainstorm before publishing their work. This inspired many friends to make their own books! Both rooms are filled with budding authors.
Two things really piqued the interest of the Turtles this week: castles and time! We borrowed the castle from EDP and friends have been using it to act out many stories in small world play. The donation of a clock from one of our families also had friends wanting to make their own, paper plate version. We gave a brief overview of how a clock works and that it keeps track of time. How else can you keep track of time (calendar, sun....)?
Corpus Christi students were really lucky this week - each class got to work on a dance routine with a dance instructor! We worked hard all week and on Friday, classes got to present them to each other. This inspired the Whales to make a stage in their room. Many plays (and some Frozen singalongs) were acted out here:
Warm weather is here! Don't forget hats, sunscreen and a water bottle as the days get warmer. We are normally outside twice a day.
We hope everyone has a fun and restful long weekend. We will see you on Tuesday!
