Welcome June! We began the final month of the school year by breaking out our Wonder Books and drawing a picture and writing about our favourite part of our field trip.
After visiting the farm, friends were eager to learn more about farm life, the Experimental farm and trees! Some Turtles counted the rings on this tree stump in our classroom and thought it was 37 years old.
The Whales read an interesting "Seek and Find" book about a year on a farm. We noticed the changes that happen in weather and farm activity. Some Whales made their own farm habitat....we found a book in our library about the history of the Experimental Farm. It was really interesting to look back at the old black and white pictures.
This week, our focus has been on word families. We began by looking at the -at word family and thinking of all the words we knew that ended with -at.....bat, cat, sat, rat! We realized knowing word families help us with our reading AND spelling. Here is a challenge for your weekend. Think about the -ap word family. Start with the word CAP. How many many -ap words can you think of?
