Thanks for a fantastic first full week, Turtles and Whales! We are so impressed with how quickly the students are learning school routines and we are having so much fun getting to know them and their families.
This was a busy week in kindergarten! We celebrated International Dot Day and discussed that we are all artists. We read this wonderful book:

And were amazed at the artistic creations born after its reading. Here are a few samples of "dot art"...
The student named this piece "Merry Diamonds."
We also continued to be blown away by the structures students are collaboratively building at our block areas, and have worked on strengthening fine motor muscles through various activities:
The students were also introduced to the concept of a talking circle this week. Many students worked hard to create talking sticks we could use for future circles (as soon as the Ipad cooperates, we will post some pictures of these)! We had our first talking circle about our weekend plans. We can't wait for Monday to hear about the adventures our friends had horseback riding, going to SkyZone, playing with little brothers and sisters and having movie nights with their families! We wish you all a safe and happy weekend. We are looking forward to seeing many of you this Wednesday evening at our Corpus Christi Program Night. Thank you for all your support and help thus far - we are looking forward to a great year with a truly wonderful group of children.
